C&W and Project Kaisei dig deep to “Save Kai”

Last November, more than 500 Cohn & Wolfe employees around the world harnessed the power of collective creativity to create a compelling 30-day fundraising concept for pro-bono client Project Kaisei.  Our smarts and ingenuity resulted in a quirky campaign that is truly an amalgamation of global imagination.  Titled “Save Kai,” the initiative centers on a streaming video of Kai, a small goldfish involved in an epic battle against ocean plastic.

Today, Cohn & Wolfe brings this idea to life by helping Kai make a big splash on Facebook.  For 30 days, Kai will dwell in a segregated part of an aquarium filled with plastic material – essentially risking his life – to give us a glimpse of what it’s like to live in the Plastic Vortex.  His mission is to convince people to save him from the perils of plastic pollution, while turning Facebook fans into active donors to help raise money for Project Kaisei’s next ocean cleanup voyage.

Each donation to Project Kaisei removes a piece of plastic from Kai’s polluted home, moving him closer to swimming in a clean, plastic-free habitat.  You can check him out here on Facebook: Kai's Page.  We hope you are inspired by Kai and invite you to contribute to his cause with a small donation or by helping spread the word.  Thanks in advance for your support!
