Feeding music fan frenzy

The Feed the Beat program reached out to local up-and-coming bands touring the country and offered to feed them for free with Taco Bell bucks -- no strings attached. Before long hundreds of band Web sites and thousands of fan pages carried unsolicited messages of devotion such as “Thank you for choosing our band. We LOVE Taco Bell.” Online chatter, combined with supporting stories in Indie Rock publications and mainstream media, reached millions of young music lovers. We're talking 15 times more than attend Coachella and South by Southwest … combined.
