More than a decade ago, Robyn understood that Africa represented a vast, largely untapped market, and had the foresight to start developing a network of communications affiliates that could serve client needs across the continent. This network would become Arcay Communications Africa – a unique network of indigenous, in-country consultancies staffed by local people equipped to provide communications services that are market relevant in over 50 African markets.

Bold brand work

Laudable client achievements include the WHO Heads of State Summit and the launch of the Roll Back Malaria campaign; the Africa-wide launch of digital satellite television; a change management program for an international tobacco company which became the company’s blueprint in emerging markets globally; investor relations for South Africa’s largest construction company and a British-based banking group with operations across Africa; media training and crisis management training for executives of a number of multinational companies operating across the continent; and a multitude of media projects for clients ranging from owner-driven businesses to NGOs, governments and multinational corporations.

Career highlights

Robyn differentiated her company within the South African communications environment by forming partnerships with leading global communications companies, long before South Africa came back into fashion. The strategy ensured that her team always stayed on top of global best practice. But without a doubt, Robyn’s proudest moment, was celebrating her company’s 20th anniversary in May 2010. Robyn’s small stature belies her determination, energy and dynamism. She is a force to be reckoned with in the South African and African communications environment!
